Weekly Highlight! Rae Morris

So, I just stumbled upon this young lady from the UK who has a great voice, a good sound and some catchy music. Nothing too poppy but still good. Cold is their highlight of the album but the other songs are very good as well. Check it out!

Cold feat. Fryars (the producer as well)

This is Closer.

and lastly From above. A lovely track.

Rae Morris has revealed details of her debut album Unguarded, set for release 26 January on Atlantic. It includes production from Ariel Rechtshaid, Jim Eliot and Fryars.

Morris said of the record:

“I’ve always liked to visualise things in circular patterns in my mind. A full circle journey, a complete tale and a finished story. I see my album as a coming-of-age tale, from start to finish, from then to now. I guess it’s a series of diary entries documenting these important years of growing up and learning. I’m not trying to be cryptic. It’s really simple. That’s just how I see it. I’m just being completely myself.”

‘Unguarded’ will be released on January 26th.

Two Door Cinema Club – Changing of the Seasons

From the band that brought you really up beat indie music, comes more music. Enjoy.

From Two Door Cinema Club – Changing of the Seasons [EP]

Reviewishness:

UK crooners Two Door Cinema Club have announced that they’ll be treating the world to more of their sonic delights with their forthcoming EP, Changing Of The Seasons. The title track from the release is ready to rock Club fanatics, with the whole kit and caboodle set to drop Friday, 27th September.

You may notice as you crank the track (below) that the lads have injected even more dance into their unique sound, ensuring that the release will be a dance floor killer just in time to soundtrack the summer. The Club tagged cult electronic artist Madeon to ride shotgun in the studio for the EP, which is sure to account for some of the additional moving and shaking that wasn’t there for the group’s 2012 full length, Beacon.

Panama – Always

I have other things to do, so its a nice song. Enjoy.

From the EP Always

Copied:

Bandcamp
“A refreshing collection of piano-laden, synth-seasoned, infectious tracks that dig deep thanks to the group’s subtle inclusion of disco, new wave, and house. It’s the sound of dusk dissolving to night, slipping under the wash of the moonlight.”

Flagship – Break the Sky

Sometime, the ideas for some of these lyric videos are so clever I just think, “wow, that’s clever!” Make sure to give it a second. It really picks up! Enjoy.

From the Self Titled album Flagship (2013)

Some info:

The record pairs the North Carolina folk rock band with producer Ben Allen, who’s worked with Animal Collective, Washed Out, and Youth Lagoon. Flagship finds the band venturing a bit into Fleet Foxes territory, but with moody touches a la The National or Joy Division.
