Cut Copy – Free Your Mind

You might recognize the Jesus-like actor in this song. Check it out. I really enjoy the song! It gets a bit odd at the end, but whatever.

Reviewish:

Cut Copy’s fourth album is officially on the way. The Australian dance-rock outfit have confirmed that their next LP lands on November 5 courtesy Loma Vista/Modular. Dubbed Free Your Mind, the 14-track full-length was recorded in the band’s home city of Melbourne and later mixed by Dave Fridmann (Tame Impala, the Flaming Lips, MGMT) in upstate New York. Lead crooner Dan Whitford produced the set, which features a bubbly, soulful title track that’s streaming above.

Elsewhere on the upcoming record, listeners will find previously heard tune “Let Me Show You Love” (formerly known just as “Let Me Show You”) and what is likely “Explorers,” a song Cut Copy debuted live earlier this summer; now that synth assault looks to have been renamed “We Are Explorers.”

Per the press release, the follow-up to 2011′s Zonoscope was strongly influenced by the two Summers of Love (San Francisco in 1967 and Britain’s in 1988 and 1989). Says Whitford: “The concept of freedom is one that’s universally positive and timeless, and whatever each person’s version of that freedom is, it’s a good thing to be reminding people or even just ourselves to be ‘free.’”

Fans are free to see Cut Copy live when they embark on a world tour in support of Free Your Mind. The four-on-the-floor crew will hit the road on October 30, with gigs booked in North America, South America, and Europe through mid-December.
