{"id":66,"date":"2016-09-01T14:43:15","date_gmt":"2016-09-01T21:43:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.ed.pacificu.edu\/tspc\/?page_id=66"},"modified":"2016-09-01T14:43:15","modified_gmt":"2016-09-01T21:43:15","slug":"marketing-endorsement","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.ed.pacificu.edu\/tspc\/faculty-resources\/endorsement-oars\/marketing-endorsement\/","title":{"rendered":"Business: Marketing Endorsement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"TOFC_Header\"><b>584-220-0045\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span class=\"TOFC_Rules\"><b>Business: Marketing<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(1) Purpose: A Business: Marketing endorsement indicates that an educator is qualified to teach prekindergarten through grade 12 assignments in Marketing as provided by the TSPC Licensure Guide for Business: Marketing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(2) An educator is not authorized to teach in the endorsed area unless and until the endorsement is officially added to the license, except as provided in OAR 584-210-0170 Atypical Assignments and OAR 584-210-0160 License for Conditional Assignment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(3) Adding to existing Preliminary Teaching License: A Business: Marketing endorsement may be added to an existing Preliminary Teaching license by demonstrating content knowledge and completing Business: Marketing pedagogy requirements as defined in this rule. To be eligible to add a Business: Marketing endorsement to an existing Preliminary Teaching License, an applicant must:<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(a) Meet one of the following content knowledge requirements:<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (A) Provide documentation of a passing score on the Commission-approved subject mastery test for Business: Marketing; or<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (B) Complete Commission-approved coursework of at least forty-eight quarter or thirty two semester hours designed to develop competency in Business: Marketing that includes:<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(i) Retail merchandising;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(ii) Marketing management;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(iii) Sales promotion;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(iv) Management and organizational behavior;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(v) Finance;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(vi) Accounting;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(vii) Economics;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(viii) Business law;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(ix) Business communications; and<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(x) Program organization and administration, such as advisory committees, student organizations, and supervision of occupational experience.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (C) All or part of this credit may be granted by the preparing institution on the basis of formal evaluation of practical occupational experience or training.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (D) At least fifty percent (50%) of the Business: Marketing coursework must have been completed within five years prior to the date of application for the endorsement.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(b) Meet one of the following Business: Marketing pedagogy requirements:<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (A) Admission to and Completion of a Commission-approved Business: Marketing preparation program; or<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (B) Complete a Business: Marketing pedagogy course of at least three quarter or two semester hours acceptable to the Commission. The course must include the word pedagogy or methods in the course title or must be acceptable to the Commission upon evaluation of course syllabi or other evidence; or<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (C) Complete a supervised practicum in a business: marketing assignment in a public school setting. To verify the practicum, a school district must submit a PEER form and a statement verifying that:<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(i) The applicant completed at least 60 hours of a supervised practicum in business: marketing courses;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(ii) The practicum was supervised by a teacher holding a Professional, Teacher Leader or Legacy Teaching license with a business: marketing endorsement;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(iii) The applicant has obtained the required pedagogy skills to teach business marketing. \u00a0<\/span><span class=\"History\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> The district must indicate in the statement that the supervisory teacher supports the verification of applicant skill level.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(iv) At the Executive Director\u2019s or Licensure Director\u2019s discretion, other Business: Marketing teaching experience such as teaching in at a post-secondary institution or in a private school setting may qualify to satisfy the practicum experience.
