{"id":106,"date":"2016-09-01T14:52:01","date_gmt":"2016-09-01T21:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.ed.pacificu.edu\/tspc\/?page_id=106"},"modified":"2016-09-01T14:52:01","modified_gmt":"2016-09-01T21:52:01","slug":"tag-specialization","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.ed.pacificu.edu\/tspc\/faculty-resources\/specialization-oars\/tag-specialization\/","title":{"rendered":"TAG Specialization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"TOFC_Header\"><b>584-225-0100\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span class=\"TOFC_Rules\"><b>Talented and Gifted Specialization<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(1) Purpose: A Talented and Gifted specialization indicates that an educator has obtained additional and specialized preparation to teach prekindergarten through grade 12 students with identified as talented and gifted learners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(2) A specialization is an optional indication of specialized expertise or preparation in an area the Commission recognizes as \u201cadded value\u201d on a license. A specialization indicates the educator has demonstrated exceptional knowledge, skills and related abilities in that area. A specialization must meet standards set by the Commission. A specialization is not required to teach in the specialization area indicated on the license.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(3) Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible to add a Talented and Gifted specialization to a Preliminary, Professional, Teacher Leader or Legacy Teaching License, an applicant must:<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(a) Possess an active and valid non-provisional Oregon teaching license;<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(b) Complete a Commission-approved Talented and Gifted specialization program in accordance with 584-420-0660. At least fifty percent (50%) of the Talented and Gifted program coursework must have been completed within five years prior to the date of application for the specialization; and<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"History\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(c) Submit a complete and correct application to obtain the specialization in the form and manner required by the Commission, including payment of all required fees as provided in OAR 584-200-0050. \u00a0<\/span><span class=\"History\"><strong>Note: <\/strong>Adding the specialization at the time of renewal will not require an additional cost to the licensure renewal process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(4) A Talented and Gifted specialization may not be added to a provisional license.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(5) The specialization will appear on a license as follows: Specialization: Talented and Gifted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"History\">(6) Once the specialization is noted on a license, it may only be removed at the educator\u2019s request.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"Rule_Title\">Stat.
