Oh he&#8217;s from London.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NZCA\/LINES - Compass Points\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0iDGEl7OO7o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>From the Album:<\/p>\n<p>NZCA\/LINES \u2013 NZCA\/LINES (2012)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/magiska.vlsweb.net.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/folder98-400x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"212\" height=\"212\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Small review:<\/p>\n<p>Nzca\/Lines frontman Michael Lovett has claimed as a primary inspiration the late R&amp;B diva Aaliyah and there\u2019s something about his gossamer-light falsetto that recalls her delivery.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>But the truly inspired thing about this debut is the way that he and producer Charlie Alex March have blended that falsetto into sleek electropop arrangements, with his vocal supported by just a skeletal beat on \u201cCompass Points\u201d, while gently shuffling keyboard figures lend a watercolour backdrop to \u201cOkinawa Channels\u201d. Elsewhere, \u201cAM Travel Approach\u201d features a Beach Boy-ish a cappella arrangement bookended by electronic fizz, and the Eighties groove of \u201cAtoms &amp; Axes\u201d recalls Metronomy\u2019s first album; but \u201cMoonlit Car Chase\u201d and \u201cBase 64 Love\u201d come perilously close to generic technopop.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #13260d;font-family: arial\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NZCALINES\">Facebook<br \/>\n<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some synthpop for y&#8217;all!
